2020 Hungarian F1 Grand Prix Race Results

Hamilton Wins, Verstappen Second, Racing Point Scores Double Podium

Lewis Hamilton claimed a comfortable win at the Hungarian Grand Prix, with Max Verstappen finishing second and Racing Point scoring a double podium.

Hamilton started from pole position and led every lap of the race, with Verstappen unable to challenge him. The Dutchman did close the gap in the final laps, but Hamilton had enough in hand to take the win.

Verstappen's second place was his best result of the season so far, and he will be hoping to challenge Hamilton more closely in the coming races.

Racing Point's Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll finished third and fourth respectively, giving the team their first double podium since the 2018 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel finished fifth and sixth, with McLaren's Lando Norris seventh.

The result leaves Hamilton with a 40-point lead in the championship standings, with Verstappen second and Perez third.

The next race on the calendar is the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on 2 August.

Conclusion

The 2020 Hungarian Grand Prix was a race of attrition, with only 13 of the 20 cars finishing. The race was also notable for the number of safety cars, with four periods of caution during the race. Despite the challenges, Hamilton was able to control the race from start to finish and claim a comfortable win. Verstappen's second place was a positive result for Red Bull Racing, but the team will need to find more pace if they want to challenge Mercedes for the championship. Racing Point's double podium was a welcome result for the team, and they will be hoping to build on this momentum in the coming races.
